General Manager Ed Kargbo accepted the award on behalf of Yellow Cab. “Yellow Cab hired the company’s first visually impaired call taker in 2004.” said Mr. Kargbo. “Thanks to adaptive technology and guidance from the Texas State Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, the company now routinely employs qualified call takers who are visually impaired.”

Communications Manager Jon Koltys (driving) and visually impaired call takers Adam Rodenbeck (front seat passenger), Chad Nezat (wearing sunglasses and holding award), and Jimmy Vinson (red shirt).
“Considering the size of Sears, our fellow award recipient, relative to our own small, locally owned company, this is quite an achievement,” noted Mr. Kargbo, who brought a group of communications employees to the awards presentation, held at he Doubletree Hotel. Among the employees in attendance were three who are visually impaired.
